Respond to Covid-19: Submit your Letters of Love in a Time of Crisis
In these moments of separation, stillness and the unknown, Letters to the Earth is an opportunity to reconnect and allow a new story to emerge.
What do you want to say? What needs to be heard? For our essential workers, neighbors, faraway friends and family. For yourself, for others and for the Earth—letters of love, support and hope are needed. Take a moment, from wherever you are, and write your Letter to the Earth.
This is an open invitation to all to write a Letter to the Earth.
Following the deeply moving and very successful Letters to the Earth Project from the UK last year during the April Rebellion, a new call out—to put pen to paper, or fingers to keys—emerges inviting everyone to write another “Letter to the Earth during this Time of Crisis”. These letters are for you to keep, to give and send (safely), to put up in your window for others to read and to share on social media via #LetterstotheEarth @CultureDeclares @xr_nyc @xr_artsnyc.
More in depth information about the project can be found at www.letterstotheearth.com. You can also tune in on Earth Day 22nd April via www.letterstotheearth.com to hear some of the many letters read in the UK.
Although submission deadlines for the UK project have past, here in XR NYC, we will be accepting your letters until April 28th. Please send your letters to Cindi at xrnyc.art@gmail.com through April 28.
Arts and Regen are working together to offer an online evening of readings of some of your letters at the NYC Community Gathering on April 30th.
If you are willing to write and read your letter to us all, please let us know that when you submit it. If you want to share, but might feel more comfortable having someone else read it, please let us know that as well and we will find someone to share your words.
Joining together with the world in this creative, empowering, loving project, we are responding to the COVID-19 crisis, as with other crises, by gathering in Community, where we can share our feelings of loss, grief, joy, gratitude, and rebelliousness.
