Just Transition: Sunday, November 13th at 6:00 pm
The Just Transition group is where social and environmental justice meet!
Our group ensures that XR's demand for a “just transition" is met, in which we shift away from the present extractive imperialist dynamics rooted in white supremacy towards a future that is sustainable, regenerative, and just for all. We aim to center the wisdom and needs of marginalized communities in all that we do, which includes (but is not limited to): Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA2S+, women, those living with disabilities, immigrants, religious minorities, and the poor—and particularly those living in the intersections within these communities.
We are working on increasing the representation of marginalized folks within XR NYC. Join us if you are interested in reaching out and showing up for underrepresented communities and other social and environmental justice groups in New York.
We are currently looking for an external coordinator, translators, writers, communicators, researchers, and also anyone with a deep commitment to justice and a desire to learn more about the various roles/responsibilities within XRNYC!

From adding new pages onto our website, providing technical support for our speakers and teachers, maintaining our email list for our newsletter, running digital security trainings, or providing information for recruiting, we collaborate with almost every working group in XR NYC.
No technical knowledge required, just a general comfort around apps and widgets is enough! This work is time and location flexible so perfect if you only have an odd hour or two a week to spare but if you want to get more involved we are also currently looking for a coordinator to run the show!

Regenerative Culture: Tuesday, November 22nd at 7:00 pm
Living in the urgency of the mounting crises of these times and the very systems of dominance, extraction, and exploitation we aim to dismantle, infects the ways we come together to organize. Regenerative Culture Working Group provides tools and support for building a resilient, creative, and compassionate movement that operates on a culture of care, connection, and respect. We produce and host programming, events, and trainings that promote and cultivate opportunities for personal, communal, and systemic wellbeing. We provide space and support for Rebels to learn and grow by processing conflict regeneratively. We work with all XR NYC groups to ensure that our spaces are inviting, inclusive and respectful. We are also looking to build care teams.
If you have experience and skills in wellness, communication, group facilitation, conflict resolution, and community building or are a healthcare professional, we'd love to meet you! As well, if you are interested in any of these areas, please also come to see how you can support this work.
