🍁 Find out about the 2023 Fall strategy
We've had a successful summer so far, with over four major actions. Read about our actions in publications such as National Geographic and Smithsonian Magazine.
2023: What Next?
Here’s looking forward to an even bolder fall season. The next online strategy sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, August 9, and Sunday, August 13. We already have over 200 confirmed attendees. Will you be there?
September Actions
Join us for an impactful week of action in NYC, starting from Wednesday, September 13th to Tuesday, September 19th. On Saturday, September 17th, we'll be participating in the mass March to End Fossil Fuels, standing alongside People vs Fossil Fuels—an influential coalition representing over 1,200 grassroots, frontline, and national organizations. Together, we will demonstrate the true strength of people power and send a powerful message to the Government.
Power the Rebellion
We are 100% volunteer-run and depend on support from rebels like you to cover costs, enabling us to continue this vital work. A regular gift ensures that we have a predictable monthly budget, allowing us to be more effective in our planning. If possible, please consider making a gift to support our cause.
You are needed, we are needed, everyone is needed. Here comes everyone!
Love, rage & courage,
Extinction Rebellion NYC
As part of our Outreach strategy, we will be conducting phone banking and mass flyering throughout the city, leading up to the September actions. Attend a Recruitment Training call to learn the skills we can all use to recruit people to Extinction Rebellion and further grow the climate movement.
Join the Outreach team as we flyer in the northern tip of Manhattan Island to promote the How to Save a Planet talk on August 16th.
Fort Washington Greenmarket, Tuesday, August 8, 10:00 AM

TALKS & TRAININGS
How to Save a Planet (Before It’s Too Late) Talk
In Person - Washington Heights
This talk will lay out the basic climate science that drives our urgency to act and outline how we can use nonviolent direct action to demand change. You may be interested in joining Extinction Rebellion or are just curious about what’s happening to the climate. Come to hear more about what humanity is facing in the next decade, what has to happen to prevent catastrophe, and to connect with others who are wrestling with these truths. RSVP
ACTION
Weekly Meditation Sits
In person - Manhattan
Join the Mindful Rebels group for weekly meditation sits at BlackRock on Tuesday mornings, Chase on Tuesdays at noon, and Citi each Thursday evening. More details.
COMMUNITY
Art Builds
In person - Brooklyn
Drop into the studio for fun, community and above all, Rebellion! We make banners, flags, silkscreen items, block prints, signs, magic and beautiful trouble. Bring your own ideas or just a painting shirt and sense of humor, we will be happy to see you! RSVP.
Embodied Antiracism Practice
Zoom
The climate and ecological emergency is a trauma inflicted on all beings by white supremacy. Our demand for a just transition starts with how we show up in our organizing. As important as an intellectual understanding of racism and the desire to be anti-racist is, these alone will not address the habitual embodiment of racism. In this weekly circle we learn ways to heal from trauma and to unlearn embodied, racialized behaviors. RSVP.
